What is a Contempt Action?
When your ex willfully fails to comply with a condition of the Final Decree, the law allows the injured party to file a contempt action to enforce the court order that’s already in place.
The offender can face incarceration for failure to cooperate.
The court can also order the offender to pay the attorney’s fees for the injured party who has to bring a Contempt Action they should never have had to bring in the first place.
